The activities of the center are:
a) To illuminate the problems of air, water, soil, radiation, sound, noise, odor, biological and similar environmental pollution caused by solid, liquid, gas, steam, aerosol and other substances, their wastes and energy losses, to take inventory, to take stock of the problems that may be encountered in the future. to anticipate, to propose solution options for problems, and to carry out or have made implementation, research, examination, development and supportive training studies on these issues.
b) To carry out or have had application, research, examination, development and supportive training studies carried out on all kinds of issues covering their relations with occupational safety and process operation conditions.
c) To carry out scientific and industrial research, examination, development and application projects according to new developments by giving priority to the application of modern techniques and the most appropriate technologies in relation to the objectives of the Center.
ç) To carry out studies for standardization and quality controls of products, methods and technologies related to the environment; To contribute to the preparation, amendment or renewal of legislation, standards and similar documents on these issues.
d) To carry out studies on the selection, research and development of new and economical techniques, technologies and energy types that will minimize the local and national environmental problems of the country, and to ensure the most appropriate adaptation to our country, to make suggestions, to contribute to the preparation or development of the relevant standards.
e) To carry out consultancy, expertise, expertise and similar functions related to the working areas of the Center; thus contributing to the country's economy and reducing the country's dependence on foreign countries in terms of products, raw materials, intermediates, additives, catalysts, technique and technology.
f) To carry out studies for the determination of environmental problems encountered by all kinds of public and private sector enterprises in the areas they need and their solutions, to provide scientific opinion on the results of these studies, to report, to provide projects and similar scientific and technical researches, consultancy, expertise, expertise and similar activities. engage in activities; to issue, issue or publish documents and certificates related to these matters.
g) To inform the local people and industry about the working areas of the center, to provide information transfer, exchange and accumulation, and to announce this information at local, national and international levels.
ğ) To establish relations and communication with domestic and foreign institutions/organizations or individuals and groups regarding the working areas of the Center, to conduct scientific and technological correspondence, cooperation, research and project studies, and to organize meetings; to support or receive support for such activities.
h) To carry out laboratory, pilot and industrial scale experiments together with researches, designs and examinations regarding the problems of the cooperated institutions/organizations related to the working areas of the Center; collecting and evaluating quantitative and qualitative data; to establish and operate research, application and training units, laboratories, stationary and mobile data collection-evaluation stations and to employ sufficient number of qualified personnel in these units; To receive support from the University in order to continue these activities in a healthy way.
ı) To carry out studies with the aim of producing useful products, by-products and similar substances from substances/wastes that impair environmental quality.
i) To carry out the necessary studies for processes such as certification, project design and commercialization for the protection of intellectual and industrial rights for techniques and technologies, know-how and similar legal inventions and practices developed by the Center.
j) To organize in-service training programs, courses, seminars, conferences, congresses, symposiums, panels, exhibitions, fairs and similar meetings or to participate in similar events organized by other organizations, by cooperating when necessary, in order to increase the efficiency in the work of the Center; To organize painting, photography, poetry, song, composition, cartoon, screenplay, poster and similar competitions and to give awards.
k) By making use of modern technological opportunities, to make correspondence within the framework of national and international cooperation on issues related to the work areas of the Center, by collecting various kinds of works, publications, reports, bulletins, books, magazines, brochures, communiqués and similar documents and works published in Turkey and foreign countries. to create an archive, library and information center.
l) All kinds of scientific and technical data, inventions, innovations, production, research and similar activities and suggestions of the Center, scientific reports, projects, bulletins, books, magazines, brochures, papers, articles and similar publications, films, pictures, photographs, slides and publish/publish in the form of similar works; to create slides, images, videos and other archives containing these activities.
